Job Description
Take on a key role in a newly formed team shaping the future of an on-premise container platform for global enterprise clients.
Our client, a leading global player in complex data management and analytics, is building a specialized team within its platform division. The mission is to strengthen the foundations of container services used by the world’s largest enterprises to transform data into actionable business insights.
We are looking for a Staff-level engineer who will provide technical leadership in integrating Rancher Kubernetes Engine (RKE) into the client’s global product ecosystem. You will work in an environment with deep expertise in distributed systems, where team members actively contribute to open-source projects such as Apache Hadoop and YuniKorn.
🌍 About the Project & Product
The project focuses on developing an Embedded Container Service based on RKE for enterprise and multi-cluster environments.
This service forms the technological backbone of the client’s on-premise data platform.
The team operates in a strongly open-source-oriented environment with direct impact on communities such as CNCF and the Apache Software Foundation.

-
Design and implementation of RKE integrations across the cluster lifecycle (provisioning, upgrades, backup, and restore).
-
Development and customization of Kubernetes networking (CNI) and storage (CSI) components.
-
Extending platform capabilities using Kubernetes APIs, CRDs, controllers, and operators.
-
Defining installation, compatibility, and versioning strategies for Kubernetes and Longhorn.
-
Establishing best practices for troubleshooting and performance tuning in large-scale deployments.
-
Actively representing the team in open-source forums and technical communities.
